It is not easy being me… The mask I wear is growing thin Wrinkled and leathery as it is made of skin. I have worn it since the day of my birth It cannot be removed until I leave this earth. It is not the mask that I may have chosen to wear Yet when I look in the mirror, it is always there. I sometimes wonder was it ever smooth flawless And showed no worry I suspect it was before life set in with years of painful discoveries. Many times were heartbreaking Others wonderful moments And I try to remember that life has been kind Whether Up Down Good or bad All of this life is mine. There is no need to vex Not growing older Would be like trying to hold back the sea… I just have to confess that sometimes its not easy being me.
